I have been a member of Lakeview Baptist Church for 14 years, and a deacon for 6 years.

I grew up “churched” in a small country church.  At 11 years old, an evangelistic team from Howard-Payne University came and led a revival.  This group was so exciting and so full of God’s love, that I just had to have what they had.  During that revival, I invited Jesus to come into my life.

God is always present and He cares about the big things and the little things.  On more than one occasion, God has allowed events and projects to fall into place, and the outcome has always been beyond the capability of my skills alone.  He cares about every part of my life.

Psalm 23:4b says, “I will fear no evil; for Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.”

I need God’s guidance, and that is symbolized by the staff.  I need God’s protection, and that is symbolized by the rod.  I am comforted by knowing that God is with me at all times.
